Which mahādaśā am I running now?
Vimśottarī daśā divides a 120-year cycle among the nine grahas in a fixed order, starting from the lord of your birth star. The mahādaśā running now, and the sub-period (antardaśā) inside it, are read from the Moon’s exact position at birth: Patri gives their dates and how much they shift with the birth time.
How Patri works it out
- The Moon’s nakṣatra at birth gives the first lord and the balance left of its period.
- Periods follow the order and lengths of BPHS Ch.46 (Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6 … Mercury 17 years).
- Every boundary moves with the birth-time precision; the page says by how many days.
