Kept only in the link, never stored. Your birth star then counts: the texts read each day’s star against it.

How is an auspicious date (muhurat) chosen?

A muhurat is a time chosen for beginning something. The almanac of each day (the lunar day, the weekday, the Moon’s star and more) is read against what the classical books favour for that kind of beginning, and what they set aside. With your birth details, your own birth star counts too.

What counts in favour of a wedding
  • A lunar day favoured for weddings
  • A weekday favoured for weddings
  • The Moon's star is one favoured for weddings
  • The Moon's star is a gentle one, which one text favours for ceremonies such as marriage
  • The rising sign is ruled by a gentle planet
  • The house of partnership is empty in the chart of the moment
  • The Moon's star is a kind one counted from your birth star (with your birth details)
What is set aside
  • A lunar day one text sets aside for any good beginning
  • A half lunar day the texts call inauspicious
  • The Moon's star is a hard one counted from your birth star (with your birth details)
  • The Moon passes the eighth sign from your Moon sign (with your birth details)

Some almanacs also mark parts of each day such as Rahu kaal. The books Patri reads do not give them, so they are not used here. Each date is a good time to begin, never a promise of how it will go.
